A: This is a really good question and one that people are often not considering. When you lose weight you might lose fat, muscle mass, bone mass and water weight. When I recommend that you should lose some body fat I am recommending that you lose the amount in fat and not muscle, bone or water. As you are trying to lose fat you might however lose some of the other bits. I would expect some water weight to drop as you initially lose weight. To ensure you are not losing muscle and bone it is important to get enough calories and nutrients in your diet. Exercising will also help to maintain your muscle mass.
Q: Is there a difference between losing fat and losing weight?
